To the Three most Beautiful Souls I could ever Know,

Dear Tomorrow, 20th April 2020…………

To my Amazingly Wonderful, Beautiful, Considerate and Un-Conditionally Cherished and Loved Children, I wonder what we all look like since it is 2050. Jordyn, you are the exact same age as me at this moment, 46 years-old! Lauryn, you are getting up there at (almost) 44 Years-Old and My Son, the cute and determined, Braedyn, you are 40 years-old!

I must admit right off the rip, this is a task that is slightly more difficult to write than I had expected. It is something that has more importance and true meaning than just the words themselves however, so for that reason I am putting my all into this letter. It is April 2oth, 2020, but by the time you read this, it will be the year 2050 and this letters context will undoubtedly have a more complicated presence in your communities and in ALL the Earth’s populace.

The issue of Climate Change is something you are very familiar with. It headlines the News daily and we are seeing real effects all around us. The issue is real, and it is here to stay. I can only say to you three, and to all of Humanity that I, for one, am sorry. I am sorry that I did not do more to help. I am sorry that I was not more involved with the issue. I am sorry that the environmental catastrophe and all the strife that is attached, which was undeniably created by my Generation and those before mine, has been thrust upon you. SO…..Jordyn, Lauryn and Braedyn Johnson,

I promise to keep your Love at the forefront of my every move. I will make personal changes and I will learn more, so that I can contribute to a healthier environment in a meaningful way. Ionically, the one bright spot that I can see, is that it is falling into your hands. I have never known such capable, empathetic, smart and motivated people such as yourselves and your peers. For that, I am grateful. I look forward to the lessons you will teach me on living a more sustainable lifestyle.

The World is still spinning on its axis, and the sky is still pale blue. But there are more clouds that frequent our horizon. And the water rises the winds prevail what is true?

It is your smiles that light my world. It is your hearts that collectively motivate my own heart to beat.

Thank-You for being the ones who will fix this terrible mess.

Be fearless – do not be afraid to talk to each other and do not be afraid to fail.

We ran through the woods laughing, crying, and living.
 

Dear future loved ones,

As I sit here and write to you, I’d like to share with you something more horrifying than a few boos – our current home, Earth.
 

Dear Kaydence,

I will keep trying Kaydence, I promise. And I hope we can look back together in 2050 and smile, knowing that our Earth is healthy once again.
 

Dear Lucie,

Lucie, I love you more than you could ever know and I hope that my promises help contribute to a better world for you and inspire you to take action as well as you grow into the amazing adult I know you will be.
