To the future generations,

Existence is resistance. Education is resistance. However, we now live in a world where existing isn’t enough. We must fight for the things we believe in. As I write this, human existence trades the life of beings around them. We incite genocide of forests, animal species, and other human beings. This must stop. I hope by the time you read this, it has.

I promise you, future generations of the world, I will educate the ignorant so in your lifetime your survival does not equal the mass death of others. I will stand on the streets, in the courts, and in the schools to encourage awareness and empathy for the earth.

I promise to be creative – make art!

As one push of a button can set a spinner in motion, so too can the actions of one in creating a world that allows you to thrive, to giggle, to love.

Dear Tanuj,

The time has come to question ourselves as citizens about our own actions and the legacy we are leaving behind.

Dear Lincoln,

I wanted to let you know that in 2019 that there were real struggles with the health of our planet.

Dear Nephew,

I believe i have truly played my part in raising awareness and practical solutions to climate change.

To my sons,

I’m voting with climate change as a top priority. I’ve tried to teach you boys that we need to clean up after ourselves and take care of the earth. I promise to continue doing these actions and more, for your sake.

Dear Madeline, Ava, and Harper,

What I wish most for you girls is that the care you have shown each other would extend to the big wide world around you.

To all the children of the future and those who love them,

While there is still breath in this body I will give of my soul and my time and energy to making the world a better place, for you, and all the beautiful living beings of this world.

Dear Erica and Matthew,

I want you to be able to bring your kids to Tahoe and experience the same clarity that you had as a child.

To My Future Children,

Most importantly, I hope you live in a world where science is taken seriously and fact is clearly distinguished from fiction.

Dear Evan,

We want your future family to enjoy the same beautiful places we enjoyed.

To my precious children,

As you’ve grown older, I’ve become increasingly aware that protecting you means more than ensuring your short-term safety. It also means ensuring that you’ll have a safe planet to live on.
