I hope it’s not too late…

I am begging all of you beautiful souls – continue to band together, keep advocating and making change to stop climate change. My heart aches and is heavy knowing what past generations of our species have done to our amazing planet. And what we are doing now in 2017…  It is not too late.  Go vegan, animal agriculture contributes to climate change more than the entire transportation sector combined. That is the BIGGEST personal contribution one person can make to fight climate change. The next is vote for politicians who acknowledge and want to fight climate change. Be less wasteful, less greedy. Mother earth is our home. Respect your mother. Our mothers are our creators and we need to respect and cherish them. Before it is too late…

I hope you are all able to have clean drinking water. I hope that lions and tigers and monkeys all aren’t extinct. I hope the coral reefs aren’t all destroyed.  Each of you as individuals are very powerful. Remember that.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Tomorrow,

The transformation of human consciousness

Dear Josh, LeeAnn, & Jessica,

I am very proud to know that You will treat Our Earth, Our Natural Gift, Our Playful Backyard with the same Awesome Respect that We give to each other, as a Family – Knowing that Our Earth, is Your Child Now.

Dear future child,

We’re presenting at conferences, writing articles, and organizing events with the goal of mobilizing our profession to act on climate, and to help them understand that it will deeply impact our mission to preserve history for future generations.

Dear Tomorrow

I hope that environmental issues are a thing of the past.

Dear Evie of 2050,

I can feel the change happening — many people are working to transform the world.

Dear Alba:

There is still a lot of beauty and I will do what I can to keep it from slipping away.

To My Fellow Two-Spirits,

Thank you — Thank you — without you, I would not hear butterflies singing, without you, I would not understand black bear humor, or the creativity of jays planning their breakfast, without you, I would not feel flora whispers of long-lived wisdom on the back of my neck while sitting in Padmasana.

Dear Lillyana,

I will continue to work to make the Earth a cleaner and safer place for you to grow and explore.

Dear Eleanor,

It seems silly to saddle yourself with guilt for something that hasn’t happened yet. I don’t want to do that. As of today, I don’t really feel guilty. I guess I just want to make sure I keep doing more, so that when you read this, and ask what I’ve done since then, I can still feel good about my efforts.

To my daughter and son,

Surrounded by scientists who shared my fears and visions, I often had a hard time to accept that outside our small community climate change received marginal attention.

Dear girls,

I love you and I care deeply about your future.

Dear loved ones in the future,

Even if it pains me to imagine how things are back home in Puerto Rico at the moment, I know things will flourish again. The land will heal, but we need to help it.
