dear you in 2050

In the summer of 2020 this year, California has just experienced a wildfire, and the scene seems like the end of the world is coming. And for now, the current extreme weather has severely affected the earth’s natural environment, animals, plants, and humans. For me, I will do my best to protect the environment in my daily life. For example, turn off the lights, take public transportation, etc. And I hope that in the future, some environmental problems such as global warming can be alleviated, and people in the future can pay more attention to environmental problems than we do now.

More Messages to the Future

To my future Niece,

While I will work my hardest to create any positive change I can, you must continue this quest. You cannot give up hope, and you must always remember that the beauty on this Earth is worth saving.

Dear Tomorrow,

My climate action is to educate youth to create solutions for energy efficiency and conservation opportunities.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to sign up for 100% renewable energy.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to include the trees and animals in all my decisions.

To my darling ones,

And it’s not that I don’t care. I care deeply. For you three, and the families I hope you will have one day; for the many beautiful places I have had the privilege to know, places which take my breath away, that fill my heart with a bursting joy and connectedness to something so much greater than I, places I know may be quite different when you are my age

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise composting in my house and getting an EV for my first car.

Dear future generations,

It’s never too late to make a difference. Our actions have very real consequences. We can educate ourselves, learn from our mistakes, and take action. We can hold companies like big oil and big plastic accountable for their negative impacts on the environment. We can educate ourselves and others about what causes climate change and what actions we as individuals can take to lower our carbon footprints.

To my children,

I hope that the fervor that is building continues to build and spread and that the world has made progress to minimize the effects of our past actions.

Dearest Finlay,

I hope you are healthy and happy and that you feel supported by the ecosystem around you because we are all deeply truly interconnected. We depend on the earth to take care of us, and nature needs us to take care of her in turn. We all need each other.

Dear Future Today,

Here in California we’re starting to recognize our climate changing the natural world around us.

Dear Gorasia descendants,

I will do all that I can, and hope my fellow inhabitants join my pursuit, to nurture this planet.

Anya,

All you can do is your best. You can encourage the same in others. You can admit your mistakes and those of your ancestors. You can learn from them, and help however you can. I’ll do the same. I promise.
