Dear Future Generations,

It’s 2019 and we haven’t made much improvement on the harsh environmental changes. Sea levels are rising, the climate is gradually increasing, numerous species are becoming extinct, and countless of cities will eventually disappear. Climate change summits are taking place annually and I hope the U.S. eventually takes an adamant stand on improving the unwanted change. By the time it’s 2030~2050, I can only hope for a refined society that cuts down on CO2 emissions and converts to utilizing renewable energy sources. Not only is this for my future, but for future generations. We have to be considerate and consider the lives of other generations to come. I promise that I will switch to a more eco-friendly lifestyle. I will keep in mind my energy usages and will for now on prioritize energy renewable sources.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Maddie,

Please know that I have tried very hard to be one of those people, to even make the smallest of changes in order to improve the world for you and your future.

Dear Me,

Today, I promise to keep my spaces clean and my environment cleaner.

Dear Isaiah,

I am grateful for your soul, for your creativity, for your empathy. All these are precious treasures that you have to offer the world. They will help. I thank you for being in this world right now, so that you can offer these gifts at a time of transition.

People of tomorrow,

Your path will only be as clear tomorrow as we have made it for you today.

Dear future family and friends,

This is our house.

Dear Maret,

Right now I want to be hopeful. Right now I want to think that we took action to ensure this beautiful future for you.

Dear Logan,

I am working every second of my life, with every ounce of my being, to ensure that I am leaving you and your brother a planet that is safe and secure.

Dear future me,

If we don’t stop cutting down trees for agriculture and to build houses then the future generations will not think about trees when they hear the word Earth.

Dear AC,

I think a lot about where the right place to live is.

To My Future Nephews,

I want you to see those corn fields in the north, the beautiful beaches down in Florida, and the stars in the woods at night.

Dear Daughter,

I want you to be prepared for the world that the generations before you are creating for you. I love you Lucienne, and I will not give up. I will push you and teach you not to give up, either, even if others around you do.

To my dear children in the year 2050,

I don’t wish to go backwards, but I do wish we would slow down and design our brave new world with more care.
