Dear Elliot, Audrey, and Miles,

You all are so very young, just starting to become the people who you will grow to be. I hope to help you to strive to be more than yourselves, more than your own wants and to embrace the world with open arms and curiosity. To do this, I promise to lead my life in a way that you would be proud of. I will reduce my consumerism, be active in my community and engaged in politics that work to preserve the earth and it species. We have already lost so many animal and plant species and more will follow that path to extinction, but we have an important opportunity right now to be heroes for future generations.  I promise I will fight so that you will know a world that is full of life, animals, trees, plants, and flowers and so that you will not have to bear witness to the suffering that climate change will bring.

Love,

Linda

Dear sons,

I’ve been so busy since 2012 working towards getting a price on carbon.

My future husband,

I want us to read this in future time and remember all the senses and views we witnessed.

To my daughter and son,

Surrounded by scientists who shared my fears and visions, I often had a hard time to accept that outside our small community climate change received marginal attention.

Dear future me,

My hopes have always been to live in a brighter and better generation, where women are respected around the world, human rights are respected and last but not least where animals and mother nature is cared for by us individuals.
